Brigham Young University. Placement Center

The Placement Center had an official change of name from Placement Bureau in 1961. The Placement Center worked with all colleges and departments (deans and chairmen) of the University in the placement of graduates and alumni, especially Teacher Placement with the College of Education. Placement Center also provided service to students who desired part-time employment while attending school and headed up the placement of full-time, non-academic personnel for the University. Placement Center procured jobs in business, industry, government, and education. The Placement Center had an established library for magazines and brochures about companies, jobs, interviews, letters of application, how to find employment, resumes, etc. B. Keith Duffin was the director (1961-1969) until he was promoted as the Director of the new University Personnel Services--the new superior unit to Placement Center. R. Wayne Hansen then managed the Placement Center (1969-1984) and Lloyd Hawkins (1985-1990).
