Human Resource Development was established in 1990 in Human Resource Services. Managing Directors were: Don Jay Brown (1990-2000) and Delora Bertelsen (2001-2003), and Directors were Matt A. Smith (2001-2008) and Anna Wight (2008-2009). Anna Wight King, Greg Danklef, Jessika Walker (consultants in the HRD department) and Forrest Flake have co-directed HRD since 2009.

Functions

Human Resource Development is a branch of the Human Resource Services Department. It mainly provides training for students, faculty, staff, employees, and employers at BYU to teach and train how to budget money, give effective presentations, resolve conflicts, be an effective leader, manage time, and so on.

Assets and Administrative Structure

Human Resource Development (HRD) worked under the Assistant Administrative Vice President of Human Resource Services. It was run by Managing Directors. Divisions of Human Resource Development included: Employee Relations (1990-1991), Equal Employment Office (1990-1991), Training and Development (1990- ), Office Personnel/Computer Software Training (1993-1994), Online Training (2008- ), BYU Wellness Program (1996- ), Organizational Consulting Services (2005- ), and Training, Registration, and Scheduling (1999- ). From 2003-2009, Human Resource Development was run only by a director. Since 2009, several consultants co-direct HRD.
