Brigham Young University. University Standards Office

The University Standards Office was created in 1960 to help administer the University's Honor Code along with the preexisting University Standards Committee and the student run Honor Council. In 1967 the Honor Council relinquished their authority over the Honor Code and the University Standards Office assumed total control of the program. They remained in control until 1991 when they were renamed the Honor Code Office along with a revision of the entire Honor Code program. Kenneth A. Lauritzen (1960-1969) served as the first director of this office and he was followed by Gary H. Carver (1969-1971), Gerald J. Dye (1971-1980), Edwin D. Pulsipher (1980-1983), Michael Whitaker (1983-1987), and Norma Rohde (1987-1991).
