Brigham Young University. President's Council

In August 1971, Dallin H. Oaks disbanded the Administrative Council which had served to advise the University President. In its place he began simply meeting personally with his Vice Presidents. The President's Council grew out of Oaks' habit of inviting members of the administration to participate in his weekly meetings with his Vice Presidents. The council was institutionalized under the next University President, Jeffrey R. Holland. The council continues to assist the current University President in reviewing and approving matters pertaining to the administration of the University.
