Brigham Young University. Graduate School of Management

The Graduate School of Management was organized in 1976 and was headed by the school dean. Merrill J. Bateman served as dean from 1976 to 1979. It then was placed under the direction of the newly created School of Management in 1979 and continued to supervise the graduate programs. It was directed by the dean of the School of Management or through one of his subordinates from 1979 to 1982. In 1982 the Graduate School of Management was placed under the direction of the associate dean of the School of Management Roman R. Andrus from 1982 to 1985. Following which Lee H. Radebaugh the associate dean of the School of Management supervised the program from 1985 through 1988. In 1989 the School of Management was renamed the Marriott School of Management and the Graduate School of Management continued in its capacity.

Functions

The purpose of the school was to offer professional degree programs in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accountancy, and organizational behavior. The program facilitated these programs and provided students with admission information and requirements for each respective program. The Graduate School of Management provided the forms on which students could apply. Qualified applicants would be accepted provided space was available.

Assets and Administrative Structure

The Graduate School of Management administered the following professional programs: Master of Business Administration, Master of Public Administration, Master of Accountancy, and Master of Arts of Organizational Behavior. The school was under the direction of the dean who was under the direction of the university president.
