The Department of Secondary Education replaced the Department of Secondary Education and Foundations in 1984. This was an interdepartmental discipline, associated with every college in the University. Department chairmen included Wallace E. Allred (1984-1985) and C. Garn Coombs (1985-1986).

Functions

The Department of Secondary Education offered the Bachelor Degree in Language Arts, Physical Science, Social Science, and Middle Education. The courses were designed to prepare students for a career in secondary education teaching.
