Functions

To provide training in three areas of focus-- 1) Design Engineering Technology where students are exposed to the broad spectrum of engineering design and become proficient in the graphic skills related to that discipline. 2) Electronics Engineering Technology where students are generally interested in applying engineering principles and supervising people for work in the areas of design, development, production, construction, operation, sales, and management. 3) Manufacturing Engineering Technology where students learn basic and advanced manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, cast metals, metal forming, and plastics.

The Department of Technology was a department within the College of Engineering and Technology. The Department Chairs were: John J. Kunzler, Jr. (1984-1986); E. Max Raisor (1986-1987); J.L. Carroll (1987-1989); John J. Kunzler (1989-1990). The Department Chair was under the direction of the Dean in the College of Engineering and Technology. In 1990 the department became part of the Department of Manufacturing Engineering and Technology.
