Functions

The purpose of the BYU Police Department is to protect students. Officers are state-certified and are asked to enforce laws and campus rules and regulations, including rules regarding the registration of vehicles and regarding parking permits. As of 1991, non-certified officers are tasked with enforcing campus rules and regulations, while certified officers concentrate on enforcing appropriate laws.
