The functions of the Student Financial Aid Council were to research and make appropriate recommendations regarding the financial needs of BYU students, recommend philosophy and policies regarding the allocation of student financial aids at BYU, formulate lines of cooperation between inter-university departments to best provide financial services to the student in need, and review and recommend budgetary procedures and policies used in the distribution of financial aid funds.
