The Social Units Committee was formed in 1927 to oversee the social units program at BYU. The chairmen of this committee were Elmer Miller (1928-1929, 1930-1933), C. S. Boyle (1929-1930), G. H. Hansen (1933-1938) and Wesley P. Lloyd (1939-1946).

Functions

The Social Units Committee organized groups of men or women into units of around twenty or thirty members. These social units would then plan activities in accordance with the rules and regulations established by the Social Affairs Committee and with the permission of that organization.

Assets and Administrative Structure

From 1928 to 1933 the chairman of this committee was the chairman of the Social Affairs Committee. Following 1939, the Dean of Men served as chairman of this organization.
