The BYU University Police Parking and Traffic Division was accountable for parking control. It was created in 1997 from the Traffic Division and it was succeeded in 2007 by the Parking Services Division. The administrator of the division was the Police Chief Robert Kelshaw (1997-2000) and it was later Police Chief Larry A. Stott (2000-2007).

The Brigham Young University Police Traffic Division enforced parking rules and regulations, including vehicle registration, and oversaw the parking appeal process.
Assets and Administrative Structure
The BYU University Police Parking and Traffic Division was a subdivision of the BYU University Police. From, 1997-2000, traffic rules and regulations were primarily enforced by non-certified officers, although state-certified officers could also enforce them. Beginning in 2000, only non-certified student officers enforced campus rules and regulations, including parking violations. The administrator of the University Police Parking and Traffic Division was the Chief of Police.
