The Brigham Young University Department of Undergraduate Social Work was formed in 1968 as part of the College of Social Sciences. It sought to prepare students to work in a variety of social services settings. In 1980, the Department of Undergraduate Social Work merged with Sociology within the College of Social Sciences.
