Church Teachers College

The Church Teachers College was established in 1909 with the primary focus to train college students to become high school instructors. Academics at Brigham Young University were separated into three areas, the Church Teachers College, the Normal School, and the High School. John C. Swensen served as the dean of the College, with George Brimhall as the University's president. In 1920, the Church Teachers College split into two schools: the School of Education and the School of Arts and Sciences.
