The Summer Language Institute was a subsidiary program created by the College of Humanities in 1983. Program coordinators included: Keith L. Roos (1983-1992), Hans W. Kelling (1992-2000), and Melvin J. Luthy (2000-2003).

Functions

The College of Humanities offered an intensive spring or summer term program that allowed for total immersion in a foreign language. The institute provided housing for those participating where the language can be applied on a practical level.
