Brigham Young University. Health Professions Advisement Office

The Health Professions Advisement Office was established in 1975 as a resource for students planning to pursue careers in medicine, dentistry, and other similar professions. In 2006 it was incorporated into the Preprofessional Advisement Office.

Functions

The Health Professions Advisement Office assisted students in preprofessional, health-related fields with academic needs, gave counsel, and helped students make the transition into professional schools. The office served all students seeking advisement with regard to health professions, including biomedical engineering, dental hygiene, dentistry, health administration, medicine, optometry, osteopathic medicine, pharmacy, podiatry, and physician's assistantship. Advisors for these fields all coordinated efforts through this office.

The center was administered by a supervisor, under the direction of an associate dean of the college.
