BYU-Ricks Center for Continuing Education

The BYU-Ricks Center for Continuing Education was previously called the BYU-Ricks Adult Education Center which was established in 1956. Those who served as chairmen of the center were: J. Kenneth Thatcher (1966-1970), Thomas D. Kershaw (1970-1972), R. Brent Kinghorn (1972-1981), Ronald W. Campbell (coordinator from 1981-2004).

Functions

The Center provides off-campus courses, evening classes, a branch of the Division of Communication Services of BYU was established at the BYU-Ricks Center in Rexburg.

Assets and Administrative Structure

The BYU-Ricks Center for Continuing Education is under the supervision of a department chairman who reported directly to the dean of the Division of Continuing Education. In 1981, the leadership was changed from a department chairman to a coordinator who reported to the dean.
