Translation Sciences Institute

In 1976, the Translation Sciences Institute was established under the direction of Eldon G. Lytle. In 1980, the university and the Church determined no practical use for its research, so the Institute severed ties with Brigham Young University and entered the private sector as an independent translation company. Eldon G. Lytle (1976-1980) and Gary Carlson (1980) worked as directors for the institute until funding was withdrawn.
