The Peery Institute of Financial Services was established in September 2001 under the Marriott School of Management. Its managing directors have included Robert Young (2002-2004), James R. Engebretsen (2004-2007), and A. Kim Smith (2007- ). Faculty directors have included Steve Nadauld (2002-2003), Steve Thorley (2003-2008), Ned Hill (2008-2011), Hal Heaton (2011-2013), and Jim Brau (2013- ).

Endowed by children of the late H. Taylor Peery, the Peery Institute fosters students seeking a future career in financial services. The Peery Institute is jointly run by a managing director and faculty director, who operate under the direction of the dean of the Marriott School of Management.
