In 2001 it became a part of the Institute for the Study and Preservation of Ancient Religious Texts (ISPART) and then moved in 2006 to the Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship when ISPART was renamed.

The Research Technology Group (RTG) developed and maintains a text retrieval and analysis program called WordCruncher. RTG also assists in the preparation of WordCruncher versions of electronic texts. With WordCruncher, one can easily find where one or more words occur in electronic texts. Its analysis tools facilitate the study of textual content and language.
