Harold B. Lee Library. Special Collections

In 1973 the J. Reuben Clark Jr. Library was renamed the Harold B. Lee Library. The Special Collections division of the J. Reuben Clark Jr. Library (previously known as Brigham Young University Special Collections prior to 1961 before the J. Reuben Clark Jr. Library was completed) was then known as the Harold B. Lee Library, Special Collections Division.

February of 1991 Special Collections merged with the Department of Archives and Manuscripts to form the Department of Special Collections and Manuscripts. In 1999 Special Collections was moved to the first floor (second level down) of the Harold B. Lee Library and due to a generous financial donation, Special Collections was named after L. Tom Perry.
