In 1981-82, Documents and Maps and Social Sciences split into two departments again. In 1996-97, the Social Sciences Department expanded to include social sciences, history, anthropology, the Government Information Department, and the Tanner Management library between the years of 1996-97. Management/Economics, Government Information, and Social Science were bound together in the Social Sciences department in 1999-2000.
