The Reserve Library became a part of the newly established Harold B. Lee Library. The Department Chairs of the Reserve Library were Mark Grover (1973), Ray Larsen (1974-1979), and Terry Dahlin (1979).
In 1979 the Reserve Library became part of the Circulation Department.

Functions
Professors could put certain materials on hold in the Reserve Library so that a larger number of students could view the materials without checking them out. However, some of the reserve materials could be checked-out for two hours at a time, or checked-out over night (after 9pm).
