The Library Information Systems Dept. was established in 1994 with the reorganization of both Computer Applications and Library Automations and Systems. In 2007,withthe creation of the Library Information Technology Division, Library Information Systems was reorganized and placed within LIT. Dept. heads included: Bill Lund (1994-2007) and Grant Laycock (2007-).

Assets and Administrative Structure

Library Information Systems Dept. was under the direction of a chair who reported, from 1994-2002, to the head of the Technical Services Division. In 2002, LIS began reporting to the University Librarian. In 2007, Library Information Services was reorganized and placed under the direction of the Library Information Technology Division. The department head was reclassified as a manager who reported to the AUL of Library Information Technology.
