The Library Information Systems Dept. was established in 1994 with the reorganization of both Computer Applications and Library Automations and Systems. LIS was responsible for the development of digital content in the form of online digital collections including Institutional Repository, Digital Preservation, and other online initiatives. The dept. implemented a library Intranet which increased interdepartmental communication.LIS also initiated workflows (INDI), Special Collections’ automation and collection presentation software; updated accessibility to visually impaired with CID; worked with OIT; implemented WebFeat federated search tool and GoldRush OpenURL resolver. The dept. developed formal relationships for support with four organizations housed within the university: the Center for Instructional Design, Intellectual Property Office, University Accessibility Center, and Institute for the Study and Preservation of Ancient Religious Texts (ISPART).
