In 1996 Interlibrary Loan became a part of the newly formed Access Services Department.

Functions

The purpose of Interlibrary Loan was to make materials that weren't available in the Harold B. Lee Library available to patrons. Interlibrary Loan loaned materials from other libraries and lent materials to other libraries as well. At the beginning, Interlibrary Loan was only available to graduate students and faculty members, but eventually Interlibrary Loan could be used by all students and faculty alike. Interlibrary Loan also copied materials for patrons, observing strictly all copyright laws.
