Description

Established: 1997

Location: Provo, Utah (1997-)

Functions

The Digital Imaging Lab was responsible for the scanning, digitizing, and uploading of library materials. The lab oversaw the actual process and completion of digitization. Projects headed by the lab include: Mormon Theses, Benson Institute Theses, Scholarly Publications Center, CES manuals, and misc. class materials. Content management of the Digital Library is primarily on the shoulders of Digital Initiatives and the Digital Imaging Lab. The lab provides digitization of texts at the request of patrons, subject librarians, curators, or administrators.

Assets and Administrative Structure

The lab had a dual leadership structure, with the equipment and overall processes overseen by a lab manager and the employees managed by a workflows manager. Both managers reported to the manager of the Digital Imaging Dept. (1997-2007) and Digital Initiatives (2007-).
