Description
Established: 1997
Abolished: 2007
Location: Provo, Utah (1997-2007)
Functions
The Digital Imaging Dept. began with relatively few concentrations or projects; the department, in general, was tasked with simply scanning items in the library's holdings and uploading them onto servers (which would eventually become the Digital Library). Eventually departmental responsibilities crystallized into providing digital content management for university and library personnel, scanning and uploading large collections at the request of either subject librarians, patrons, university officials, or departments. The department included the Digital Imaging Lab., electronic publications, and copyright clearance.

The chair of the Digital Imaging Dept. reported to the Deputy University Librarian from 1997-2004. From 2004-2007 it reported to the head of Library Information Systems.
