The Desktop and Server Operations Dept. was established in 2009. It was previously a part of the Library Information Systems Dept., and was created to help focus the work of LIS, as well as provide an in-library technical service department, which had previously been the job of the Office of Information Technology. Managers of the department have included: Ryan Amy (2009-).

Functions
Operations services all desktop computers within the library building. Personnel within this department are responsible for technical service, software and hardware management, and problem-solving for patrons and staff. Examples of services include increasing access services and information storage on the Y-Cloud (offered through OIT)
