The Conservation Department is dedicated to the preservation of the library materials that are rare and valuable. Library materials that are old or severely damaged are treated and preserved in the conservation laboratory, while library materials that are damaged or worn by normal library circulation are treated by the Book Repair unit in another department of the library.
