The Circulation Department continued to function within the new library as it had in the past. The department chairs of the Circulation Department were Grace Allphin (1973-1979), Ray Larsen (1979-1981), Therrin Dahlin (1981-1985), Doug Gould (1985-1989), there was not a department chair from (1989-1993), and then Carla Kupitz became the department chair from (1993-1996).
In 1979 Public Services became the Information Services Division,and in 1985 the Information Services Division became the General Services Division. In 1991 the General Services Division was renamed the Public Services Division. Circulation stayed within these departments until 1996 when Circulation merged with Interlibrary Loan to become the Access Services Department.
