Harold B. Lee Library. Access Services

The Access Services Department was formed in 1996. Circulation, which included Current Periodicals and Course Reserve merged with Interlibrary Loan and formed Access Services. Current Periodicals weas moved from Access Services to General Reference in 1997. The Learning Resource Center was moved to Access Services from 2007-2009. The department chairs of Access Services were Kathleen Hansen (1996-2010)Kathy Johansen (interim, 2010), and Duane Hansen (2011-).

Functions

The Access Services Department was formed to provide continuity to the areas of the library where large amounts of student employees work. These areas of the library include circulation and interlibrary loan. At other times Access Services included the Learning Resource Center, Stacks Management, Current Periodicals, and Course Reserve.

Assets and Administrative Structure

The department chair for Access Services reports directly to the Assistant University Librarian for Public Services.
