The Field Services Office was established within the David O. McKay School of Education Student Services Center in 2008. In 2009 the office moved to the David O. McKay School of Education Student Services when the Student Services Center changed names. The office moved once again in 2010 to Education Student Services when Student Services was renamed.

Functions
The Field Services Office assists students with student teaching and internship placements in local partnership schools and in schools selected for national and international programs. Students must make application and receive clearance for student teaching and internships by submitting a Student Teaching/Internship Application to Field Services.
Assets and Administrative Structure
From 2008 to 2009 the Field Services Office reported to the supervisor of the Student Services Center. Then from 2009 to the beginning of 2010 the office reported to the supervisor of Student Services within the David O. McKay School of Education. Currently, the office is administered by the director of Education Student Services who reports to the dean of the David O. McKay School of Education.
