David O. McKay School of Education. Educational Advisement Center

The Educational Advisement Center was established within the David O. McKay School of Education Student Services Center in 1997. In 2003 the office was renamed The Educational Advisement and Certification Office. Directors of the Center included: LuJeanne Peters (1997-1998), Sally M. Todd (1998-1999), and Linda D. Parker (1999-2003).

Functions

The Education Advisement Center assists students from the beginning of the freshman year through graduation and teacher certification. Students majoring in elementary education, early childhood education, audiology, or speech-language pathology requirements, student teaching and other field experiences, graduation requirements, and teacher certification procedures. Secondary education majors in physical science or social science receive their total program advisement from the Education Advisement Center. All other secondary education majors receive certification advisement only from the EAC.

The Center was overseen by a Director who reported to the dean of the school.
