Functions

CITES seeks to continually educate teachers of public schools in order to improve children's education. The CITES programs offer elementary and secondary teachers the opportunity to certify as reading specialists. These programs also offer seven classes required by the Utah State Office of Education: foundations of Literacy, Content Area Literacy, Writing Instruction, Reading Comprehension Instruction, Children's or Young Adult Literature, and Literacy Assessment and Interventions.
