Functions
The program examines the Arabic-, Turkish-, and Persian-speaking peoples and countries of the Middle East. The region itself provides the focus, but historians, political scientists, anthropologists, economists, geographers, linguistics, art historians, and literary and religious scholars all provide important insights into the area. The main focus supporting these various studies is is linguistic skill in Arabic, which offers access to original sources, press analysis, and native speakers.
