David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies. International Studies Program

In 1997 the International Relations Program was renamed the International Studies Program and placed under the direction of the David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies director. Chad F. Emmett served as program coordinator from 1997 to when the program was discontinued on March 2, 2002. The program was replaced by the International Relations Program.

Functions

The International Studies Program was a multidisciplinary program designed to familiarize students with politics, economics, history, and geography, as well as to develop cultural sensitivity. Students were required to integrate information about international issues from diverse academic disciplines such as anthropology, sociology, business, languages, and are studies. Students enrolled in the major were required to complete an area studies minor.
