The International Development Program was instituted in the David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies in 1995. The program provided for a minor in International Development.

Functions
The International Development Program studied basic human needs in developing areas or countries. It was an interdisciplinary program sponsored by faculty members who were involved in development programs. Disciplines included: formal and nonformal education and literacy, primary health care, small business activities, water sanitation, agricultural productivity, nutrition, ecological preservation, etc.

The program was administered by the David M. Kennedy Center Advisory Committee.
