The Daily Universe began in 1948 after the renaming of Y News. Editors include: Ken Pace (1948-1949), Dave Schultess (1949-1950), Lee L. Functions
The Daily Universe was the campus-lab for journalism students. The Daily Universe mainly existed to train journalism and public relations students in writing for mass media. A byproduct of this lab was a campus newspaper oriented.
