Functions

The Women's Studies Program offers undergraduate courses concerning studies on gender and issues that pertain to women. The program offered a minor degree for undergraduates in Women's Studies. Until 2011, the program primarily offered a semester colloquium and reading series for students. In 2011, the program increased its scope to include conferences, increased class offerings, a student academic association, as well as increased access to available fellowships and grants in the area of Women's Studies.

Assets and Administrative Structure

From 1992-2009, the program was under the guidance of a program coordinator who reported to the director of the Women's Research Institute, as well as the chair of the department within which it was housed. Beginning in 2010, the program was run by a Program Coordinator who reported to the academic vice-president of the college.
