The Department of University Studies was established in 1973 as a department within the College of General Studies. Department chairs included Spencer J. Condie (1973-1975), John L. Sorenson (1975-1978), and Dennis F. Rasmussen (1978-1980). In 1980 the department was moved to the College of Humanities when the College of General Studies was dismantled.

Functions

The department of University Studies offered both a bachelor's and associate degree in University Studies, advisement for students without majors, and tutoring services.
