University Publications functioned as a service of the University Press from 1978 until 1981. University Publications became its own entity in 1981 and ensured that publications representing Brigham Young University were produced professionally and economically. Norman A. Darais servered as director of University Publications from its creation until it was reorganized as Brigham Young University Publications and Graphics in 1994.
