Brigham Young University. Student Special Services

Student Special Services was established in 1979 as a division of Student Life. It specifically served as the administrative unit for the Discontinuance Office and Handicapped Student Services. Denmark C. Jensen served as the Student Special Services Adviser from 1979-. In 1986 Student Special Services changed names to Student Auxiliary Services.

Functions

Student Special Services functioned to assist students who discontinue from the university while a semester or term is in progress by suggesting services available to them and by examining their logic toward emergencies that cause them to consider discontinuance. Student Special Services also functioned to coordinate services available to physically impaired students and to assist toward reducing barriers to their academic success.
