The functions of the Personnel Committee was to make recommendations on wages and salaries as well as personnel policies for employees of the University. They likewise reviewed the recommendations of the Retirement and Benefits Committees.

The members of this committee were appointed by and responsible to the University President. During the 1980's the Financial Vice President of the University served as chairman of this committee.
