There was also two two-year undergraduate programs available. In 1982 it was placed in the College of Humanities. Maurice P. Marchant (1977-1983) and Nathan M. Smith (1983-1988) served as directors. In 1993 the school was closed by the university.

Functions

The School of Library and Information Sciences functioned to educate individuals to use their abilities in creative and innovative ways in librarianship. Individuals were trained to possess efficient and maximal comprehension in all kinds of learning resource centers, instructional media centers, libraries, and information centers. Courses offered included Foundations of Library and Information Sciences, Selection and Acquisition of Materials, and Library Organization and Administration.
