The Religious Studies Center was a part of Religious Instruction at the time of its establishment in 1976.  Beginning in 1983 it was a part of Religious Education.  It was a center which promoted research in several areas, and was not involved in classroom instruction nor degree programs. Jeffrey R. Holland (1976-1977), Ellis T. Rasmussen (1977-1982), Robert J. Matthews (1982-1990), Donald Q. Cannon (1990-1991), Robert L. Millet (1991-2001), Andrew C.
