The Religious Education Department existed as part of the College of Religious Instruction for five years. In 1964 it was merged with the other departments in the college to form the departments of Undergraduate Studies in Religious Education and Graduate Studies in Religious Education. B. West Belnap (1959-1962) and Chauncey Riddle (1962-1964) served as chairmen.
