The Office of Research and Creative Activities was founded in 1994 under the direction of Gary Hooper. Direction then passed to Brent Webb in 1996. In 1999 Gary Reynolds stepped into the office of Director and continues to hold the position today.

Functions

The Office of Research and Creative Activities exists to support students, staff, faculty, and the BYU administration in their efforts to encourage and support research, creative activities, and other expressions of academic scholarship.

The Office is under the guidance of a Director, the Associate Academic Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies, who functions under the direction of the Academic Vice President.
