Functions

The Office of First-Year Experience was created to help new students to Brigham Young University adjust to university life at this institution by helping them develop ways of thinking, helping them make connections with faculty, staff, and other students, helping them become familiar with the campus and campus resources, and giving them a greater sense of vision with regards to university education through understanding the mission of Brigham Young University. Freshman Academy was administered by the Office of First-Year Experience until 2009, when it became a separate division of Undergraduate Education.

Assets and Administrative Structure

The Office of First-Year Experience oversaw the Freshman Academy Office and program until 2009; it also coordinates New Student Orientation.
