Functions

The purpose of the program was to provide a liberal education and to furnish an area studies emphasis in preparation for professional training and activity in the areas of business, law, government, scholarship, and the Church seminary and institute system. The course work of the program focused on the modern Near Eastern language study, social sciences, humanities, and religion. The program offered students a minor, bachelor, and master of the arts in Near Eastern Studies.
