The Law Enforcement Education Program was established in 1970 under the coordination of Charles T. Fletcher. This program resided within the Technical Institute of the College of Industrial and Technical Education until 1973, when the College was abolished. The program was then integrated into the Law Enforcement and Justice Administration Program in 1974.

Functions
The Law Enforcement Education Program is designed to prepare students for careers in law enforcement and related fields in the administration of justice. The courses offered will provide students with the background and academic skills and some exposure to the technical skills necessary to qualify them for employment with federal, state, local, industrial-institutional, and private law enforcement agencies. The aim of the program is to produce law enforcement and other criminal justice personnel who possess high-level professional skills, an understanding of the forces that work in society, skill in human relations, the ability to adapt to the rapid changes of modern living, and the moral courage to put these skills and abilities to righteous use. Degrees were offered at the Associate, Bachelor's, and Master's levels.
